This ship sailed along the coast of Norway for many years, then named “Sognefjord”. Good to see she`s been taken care of, lovely photos brings back memories.. She sailed between the city of Bergen, up the fjords and to Sogndal. That`s a small willage at the northern side of the fjord she got her previous name from.. When she sailed for the last time here, it was arrangements at the places she visited. At least one place they played a march called “Tiumphant Voyager”…
Later on, several veteran ships in Norway has been restored and used in tourist traffic. Most of them are older than her; including some steam boats- and the eldest is a paddle steamer that`s actually 160 years old!! Our royal ship KS “Norge” is also build in the mid 40`s, so I`m sure that Orient Explorer can be around for many years to come..!

My Dad served on sister ship HMS Kilmacolm so the photos were very interesting for him after all these years.
Thanks
